Im in the middle of doing a head rebuild on my 95' eclipse gst since it overheated. To change the camshaft angle/position sensor you need to remove the cam gear on the intake side. This means you have to first remove the valve cover and the timing belt. I would say if you are going to change the cam position sensor, be ready to change the timing belt also... a pain to do but good learning for any dsm'er :)
I'm getting ready to replace one on the same year and model tomorrow. It appears fairly straightforward, but I'll post again when I'm done so I can give you all the details. BuilderCraig

Bad spark plugs, coils are coil, bad injector. Cam are crankshaft sensor
A 2002 Dodge does have a cam sensor, but the 318 was not offered after 2001.
cam position sensor is located on the top lest of the engine just behind power steering pump you will have to take the pump off to slide it out of the engine once you remove its mounting bolt
There is no "oil cam sensor". There is a oil pressure sensor and a cam sensor, but they are two different sensors.
To change a 305 cam sensor, locate it beside the camshaft. Disconnect the electrical plug of the sensor and remove the hold-down bolt to take off the cam sensor. Replace with new.Ê
