Take off inside door panel. Here is a video link that shows how. Even with the back door closed you can remove the door panel. You do not have to remove the back seat. You just really need to pull hard on the door panel. After you remove the door panel, use a small screwdriver to push up on the child lock switch. Then you should be able to pull on the rod and open the door. You should replace the outside door handle while you have the door panel off. Watch the video.
