I was mistaken in believing that there were two girls that spoke to Deep Thought.

I did research (elsewhere on the internet) and found out that they were a young girl and a young boy, playing the characters Lunkwill and Fook. They were played by four men, two at a time, "every 7.5 million years" in the TV Series.

When asked what the answer meant Deep Thought replied that in order to understand the answer you first had to ask the right question. Unfortunately, no one has ever figured out what the question was.*"The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" was a BBC radio series (which began in 1978), a book series by Douglas Adams (which began in 1979) and a motion picture (2005). The ultimate question is 'What do you get if you multiply six by nine?' which IS 42 in base 13.
