Depends who you mean by "they". The last time Halley's Comet was close enough to the sun and the earth for ordinary people to see it with our naked eyes was in 1986. After that, as it headed away from the sun again, astronomers tracked it telescopically for almost another year. The Halley Committee has scheduled the comet's next appearance for 2062.

Why does Halleys comet travel through our solar system regularly?

Halley's comet is in orbit round the sun. Its orbit time is about 75 years, but as the orbital path is long and narrow, most of that is spent far out where we cannot see it. We see it for a few months when it is near the sun.

In what year was the last time halleys comet was 10 miles above the earth?

Halley's Comet has never been 10 miles above Earth. It is always millions of miles from us, even when closest to us. It was last visible from Earth in 1986. It will next be visible in 2061.

What is the name of the comet that orbits the sun in your solar system?

What is the best time of day to view Halleys comet in March?

You can't see Halley's Comet at any time of the year now. It was last seen from Earth in 1986 and won't be seen from Earth again until 2061. It orbits the Solar System, taking about 75 to 76 years to do so, so it can only be seen about that often from Earth.
