The line itself is a reference to quote from Hunter S. Thompson who said that America was raising a generation of dancers. Thompson, who died in 2005, was a writer who amongst other things was known for promoting the use of tripped out drugs. Also lyrics in a song by "The Killers" called "Human" of their album called "Day and Age" which is track no. 2
