If it's anything close to a SOHC, then the answer is no, but it's a heck of a job and is well worth paying a a qualified mechanic to do it.

The bad thing is you have to get in a really tight place. The motor is turned sideways as you know and you have to get to the water pumps an the side next to the passenger fender. You actually have to hoist the motor up to get the pump out. Dont take the motor all the way out just take the mounts loose and lift it at an angle and get to work. If you remove the passenger side tire, then remove the plastic side splash guard you can access many of the bolts for the water pump from there.

There are a few parts to an answer. How deep is the water in your well? Is there sludge or sediment at the bottom of the well? How deep is this and how much is clean water? How long is your pump? How long is the motor housing? I just placed a 70cm pump, motor 35cm, in 250cm if clean water. 20cm of sludge. The bottom the motor housing was placed about 40cm above the sludge which means there is about 75 cm of clean water below the water inlet and 175cm of water above the pump. It will take many years for the sludge to rise and even in low water periods I should stay in operation.
