Unless it is running rough or missing, change them at 90,000 miles. They are screwed into the heads.

Where is the crankshaft position sensor on 2003 Nissan Altima?

Here's some pics of my 2003 Altima Crankshaft Sensor. Often mistaken by the Camshaft Sensor because both are identical sensors. They are each located in different locations. I've seen diagrams with the WRONG labeling. Again, this is so confusing for even a mechanic to understand because both sensors carry the same part number which is rare. http://x.nissanhelp.com/forums/members/digitaldxing-albums-2003-Nissan-altima-crankshaft-position-sensor-picture331-2003-Nissan-altima-crankshaft-position-sensor.HTML Here's the answer for everyone that has a 2003 Nissan altima 3.5 liter the vq35de engine not the qseries. In the vq35de, the crank position sensor is not located in the back. Iv looked all over for its location and took hours to get no where. It is simply located right below the air intake, on the right front side of the oil pan, located below starter. Here is the diagram.. http://www.justanswer.com/Nissan/3anvu-crankshaft-position-sensor-2003-altima-vq35-au.HTML so don't go to dealer have have them charge you 200 bucks to install it,even after they told you your car isn't on the recall list. It takes 3 mins to replace old one with new.

Does a 2005 Nissan Altima have spark plugs?

Yes, all gasoline cars have spark plugs. However, the 2005 Nissan Altima does NOT have spark plug wires. Instead, they have what are called ignition wires. They perform the same function as a spark plug wire but are more efficient. However, they are not easily replaced by a shade tree mechanic and often require Nissan dealership assistance for removal/replacement. Hope this helps.
