Install a test light in series with battery. If there is a current flow light will illuminate. Remove 1 fuse at a time until light goes out that will determine which circuit is drawing current. Then you can trouble shoot that circuit. May be concealed light i.e. glove box is left on. Could also be voltage regulator circuit is not opening when vehicle is shut down.
The 2000 Hyundai alternator is located on the left-hand side of the engine, near the front. You can trace the positive battery cable from the battery to the alternator.
To replace the alternator in a 2005 Hyundai Sonata with a 6-cylinder engine, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley and then disconnect the electrical connections from the alternator. Unbolt the alternator from its mounting bracket, then install the new alternator by reversing the process: secure it with bolts, reconnect the electrical connections, and reattach the serpentine belt. Finally, reconnect the battery cable and check the system to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
Usually it means your alternator is bad or going bad.
I had the same problem on my '99 Hyundai Sonata GLS. It was the alternator. It costs about $170 and it's about $150 to take it to Car-X and have them install it.
# Disconnect negative battery cable # Raise car and support it # Disconnect the wire harness from the alternator electrical connections # Loosen the alternator lower mounting bolts.Working from above loosen the upper adjustment lockbolt, back off the adjustment bolt swivel the alternator toward the engine and then release the drivebelt from the alternator pulley # Unscrew and remove the alternator upper and lower mounting bolts and washers then remove alternator from its mounting bracket
Yes, a main fuse is located in the Hyundai Elantra engine bay fuse box. The main fuse is used for the alternator just in case the alternator experiences a power surge. It protect the rest of the electrical components.
1.Disconnect the negative battery cable 2.Raise vehicle and support it 3.Disconnect them wire harness from the alternator electrical connections 4.Loosen the alternator lower mounting bolt.Working from above, loosen the upper adjustment lockbolt, back off the adjustment bolt, swivel the alternator toward the engine and then release the drivebelt from the alternator pulley 5.Unscrew and remove the alternator upper and lower mounting bolts and washers, then remove alternator from its mounting bracket.
where is the alternator located in a Hyundai excel 94 model
Bad/shorted battery? (doesn't not hold a charge)
The alternator on a Hyundai 2.7 liter engine requires removal of the plastic covers on the passenger side and the vehicle to be lifted. After securing the car remove the plastic cover in the wheel well. Disconnect the battery. Locate the alternator and remove the bolts holding it to the engine as well as all the wire connections.
Dead cell in battery, some light is on and is drawing power when the car is not running, or a relay is stuck. This is assuming the alternator is good.
1. Disconnect negative battery cable 2. Raise the car and support it securely on jack stands 3. Disconnect the wire harness from the alternator electrical connections 4. Loosen the alternator lower mounting bolt. Working from above loosen the upper adjustment lock out back off the adjustment bolt swivel the alternator toward the engine and release the drive let from the alternator pulley 5. Unscrew and remove the alternator upper and lower mounting bolts and washers then remove the alternator from mounting bracket
