No the ckf and the ckp are not the same sensor for a 2000 Honda civic. The crank fluctuation sensor is behind the crank pulley and can be changed fairly easy with some mechanical knowhow when the timing belt is done. The crank position sensor is built into the distributor. To change this sensor you would have to rebuild the inside of the distributor or replace the entire distributor. Hope this answers your question.
its located in the distributor.
The crankshaft position sensor can be found on the bottom of the engine in a 2000 Honda Civic EX. It is next to the crankshaft itself.
This code is related to the CSF Sensor and it indicates NO signal from it. CSF = Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation This sensor connector is located below by the timing belt (under the intake manifold).
in the distributor
in the distribuitor (inner)
inside the distributor
it is located behind the timing belt cover at the bottom half. you will need to remove the belts, crank pulley (reverse threads) and the attaching bolts to the plastic cover. it is the only sensor located next to the crankshaft it self. two wires one blue and one white. goodluck.
To replace the crankshaft position sensor on a 1993 Honda Civic, first disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent any electrical issues. Locate the sensor, which is typically found near the crankshaft pulley or behind the timing cover. Remove the mounting bolts and disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor. Install the new sensor by reversing the removal steps, ensuring the connections are secure and then reconnect the battery.
Remove the engine brush cover under the front of the engine. Remove the drive belt to make changing the sensor easier (optional). Remove the lower timing belt cover and the crankshaft pulley to access the crankshaft position sensor. Disconnect the electrical modules from the crankshaft position sensor, located next to the alternator. Take off the bolts with a socket wrench and remove the sensor.
its behind the crank pulley on that gear at the end of the crankshaft on the timing belt side of the motor
The crankshaft position sensor on a 2000 Honda Civic is typically located near the bottom of the engine, on the transmission bell housing. It is positioned close to the crankshaft, usually on the driver's side. To access it, you may need to remove certain components or parts of the engine cover. Always consult the vehicle’s service manual for specific details and diagrams.
