You only need to change it if it has failed. There is no other reason.
crank sensor should always be near bottom crank pulley
there is a bolt off to the right off the sensor take it out and it should just pull right out.
The crank sensor is behind the starter. Remover the starter at the back of the engine and you will see the sensor
Should be by crank pulley.
How do you change the crank sensor on a 2002Nissan Atima3.5?
the ckp for the 3.8 is located at the harmonic balancer on all applicatins remove the right side (passenger) tire and also the plastic shroud, you should be able to access the crank sensor from there You'll have to pull your harmonic balancer to change the crank sensor.
very carefully
There is only one crank sensor fitted, you may also have a cam sensor. the crank sensor is located either around the bellhousing or around the front crank pulley. It either has 2 or 3 wires. It picks the signal off the revolving crank so look for a sensor in the block near flywheel.
No it will not start need to change the cam sensor & crank sensor!
What dies?
Your crank sensor should be located near the harmonic balancer, most likely just behind the balancer. These sensors are tiny and hard to spot. NEW ANSWER: The crank sensor is behind the starter, and you will need to remove the starter to see it and to change it. The V6 engines have the crank sensors in the timing cover. But the 5.3L is a V8.
