For the 3.9L, the official replacement belt with no A/C is 88.5 inches. That won't fit as some of the other pulleys must be a different size if it's manufactured without A/C, though why that would be is beyond me.
In my case, a 90" belt fit great. With a helper and something to stretch the belt, an 89.5" belt might work, but if you are working by yourself, the extra .5" makes all the difference. The tensioner can compensate for the .5" difference with no problem.
What year is the Dakota and what is the make and model of the 1998 Dodge that the compressor came off of ????????

To install an AC compressor bypass pulley on a 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan, first, disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the serpentine belt from the AC compressor. Then, unbolt the AC compressor to access the mounting area for the bypass pulley. Install the bypass pulley in place of the AC compressor, ensuring it is securely fastened. Finally, re-route the serpentine belt around the new pulley and reconnect the battery cable.
