For Mercedes Engine: Fuel Filter is located on driver's side, low next to the engine. To change, remove allen-head bolt, disconnect two fuel lines and sensor plug. Remove filter and save black plastic ring in bottom of filter. remove center bleed screw and dispose of. Remove torx screws holding sensor on fuel filter, twist and remove sensor and replace o-ring. Sensor may have to be gently pried to remove it. install sensor onto new filter, install torx screws, install new o-ring on bleeder screw and install screw on new filter. Place filter in mount and install allen-head screw, fuel lines and sensor plug. Fuel system will likely need to bled. This can be done by turning the key and loosening the bleed screw until all air is pushed out.

One engine air filter and one cabin air filter.
The 2003 Sprinter has a mechanical fuel pump on the engine. While changing the filter you have airlocked the fuel system. The way I restart them is to apply suction to the return hose on the filter(look for arrows) and pull on it until you get fuel. Had this problem on 2002 sprinter, the problem was the sensor on the bottom of the filter not connected properly
