Basically if you picture the oil fill cap position if it were located on the bottom of the blocl the starter would be just to the rightof it. I am replacing my tranny cooler, A/C condencer, and Radiator. Due to Mother not stopping for a deer.. and cleaning the connections to the starter while I have the extra elbow room. If your deville has "PFI" in red letters on the valve cover you have a 4.9 "B" motor and the starter is on the outside left front of the engine. You can see the starter from underneath between the radiator and the oil pan.
