Ask your doctor whether you might have neuropathy, especially if you are over 40 or are very overweight. It is common if a person has high blood sugar (Diabetes) but neuropathy also has many other causes.

If neuropathy is not the cause, burning toes would still likely be caused by pressure on a nerve. Make sure you always wear the right sized shoes. If you are female, wear lower heels to relieve pressure on the toes. Avoid pointy-toed shoes.

How are human legs different then horses?

The most major difference is that a horse's legs are not muscular like a human's. There is very little, if any, muscle mass on a horse's legs. Also, horses stand on their toes, unlike humans who stand on their feet from the heal (which is very similar to the hocks on a horse) to the toes.
