It depends. If he/she has an established name and many years of experience, over 20% of total budget is not unheard of. If they have some experience, 10% of budget is common. If they are straight out of school, I've seen minimum wage rates- $100 a Day with gear. Most reasonable producers that take themselves seriously will never offer less than $150 a day with minimal gear included.
