I think as more outer rings are added to the nucleus the number of electrons and protons double e.g I think first ring has 2 of each. 2nd ring has 4 of each. 3rd ring has 8 of each. This may not be true as it has been a few years since I have learned this. hey ppls

What number of electrons that can be held in first orbit closest to the nucleus?

The orbit or electron shell closest to the nucleus is the 1s sub-shell. It can hold 2 electrons before the 2s sub-shell is filled. H and He have their electrons in this shell (the 1s)

Electrons that are closest to the atom's nucleus are in the blank energy level?

The electron closest to the nucleus has the lowest energy level. Since electrons are attracted to the nucleus, it takes energy to make them orbit at a greater distance (and even more energy to remove them from orbit entirely).

What are the number of electron that can be held in the first orbit closest to the nucleus?

8

Why don't electrons orbit around the atoms nucleus like planets orbit the sun?

do electrons orbit the nucleus like plantes orbit the sun?

The part of an atom orbits the nucleus?

Electrons orbit the nucleus. The nucleus is comprised of protons and neutrons.

What part of the atom orbits the nucleus?

electrons are negatively charged sub atomic particles which surround the nucleus and never leave their orbit unless and until they are excited by a photon(packet of light)

What in an atom orbits the nucleus?

Electrons orbit the nucleus, loosely speaking; they do not really orbit the same way that planets orbit the sun, they actually spread out into a cloud that surrounds the nucleus.

Are electons in the nucleus?

No. In a nucleus are protons and neutrons. Electrons orbit the nucleus.

Orbit around a nucleus?

Electrons

Is electrons found inside the nucleus?

They are not in the nucleaus, they orbit around the nucleus.

Where electrons are found the nucleus?

They are not in the nucleaus, they orbit around the nucleus.
