It really depends on the purpose, Aluminum is lighter (depending on the thickness) and will not rust (Nonferrous). However Galvanised steel is cheaper normally, as it is just a coat of zinc on steel, the only problem is that if it gets scratched enough to take away the zinc coating, then it will corrode just as fast as normal steel. Both have similar enough strength though.

It mostly just depends on what you are wanting to do.

Is aluminum a good ground?

From a chemical standpoint, steel is a better thermal and electrical conductor than aluminum. Practically, however, aluminum's usefulness as a conductor is limited by its ease of oxidation. Since aluminum oxide greatly diminishes the conductivity of the aluminum over time, aluminum is not very suitable for use as a conductor in practical applications.

Property of aluminum in hardness?

Aluminum is pretty hard; it is not as hard as steel, but it is harder than copper.

What is more reactive steel galvanized steel or stainless steel?

It depends on the environments. If the two materials will be in contact with water or high humidity then you can have some corrosion on the galvanized steel.Stainless steel and galvanized steel can corrode. However, galvanized steel will corrode at a higher rate. Stainless steel is more corrosion resistant than galvanized steel, but in some circumstances it will also corrode.

Is water or aluminum a better conductor?

Aluminum is a much better conductor than pure water. Salty water conducts as well as aluminum, however.

What is the difference between Aluminium alloy and steel?

If the steel contains by weight one or more of the following elements in the proportion shown, it is an alloy steel. 0.3 % or more of aluminium 0.0008 % or more of boron 0.3 % or more of cobalt 0.4 % or more of copper 0.4 % or more of lead 1.65 % or more of manganese 0.08 % or more of molybdenum 0.3% or more of nickel 0.06 % or more of niobium 0.6 % or more of silicon 0.05% or more of titanium 0.3 % or more of tungsten (wolfram) 0.05 % or more of zirconium 0.1 % or more of other elements (except sulphur, phosphorus, carbon and nitrogen), taken separately. Any steel not containing one or more of the above elements in the weight proportions shown, is a non-alloy steel.

Galvanized steel is better for plumbing in a bathroom sink. It lasts a lot longer than PVC.

Which is better for a 250 foot zip line stainless steel or galvanized cable?

Stainless steel is much better than galvanized for use as a zip-line.

Which material is better to use in an inground liner pool galvanized steel frame or aluminum frame?

Galvanized steel. It lasts longer and is less affected by chemicals and saltwater if you choose to go that route. I do suggest saltwater. It needs for less maintance than a pure chlorine pool.

Does an aluminum case offer better cooling than a steel one?

Aluminum would be better at keeping the temperatures lower compared to steel.

What boils water faster stainless steel or aluminum pans?

aluminum conducts heat better than stainless steel.

Is aluminium better than steel to conduct electricity?

no, steel is not better conductor than aluminum due to structural differences between them.

I am looking for a 20 quart stock pot, which is better an aluminum or stainless steel?

Stainless steel would last you much longer than aluminum. Aluminum is not as dense as steel, and may not last as long.

Is zinc fence stronger than Galvanized fence?

Zinc is the coating on the steel that makes it galvanized.

What is computer case material SGCC 0.6mm made of Plastic aluminum or steel?

The simple answer is that the case in question is made of 24 gage galvanized high carbon steel. SGCC is a galvanized high carbon steel. It is Harder than typical steel, and has a thin coating of electro-statically bonded zinc that prevents it from oxidizing. the 0.6mm is the thickness of the metal being 6 tenths of a millimeter also known as 24 gage steel. As a computer case material it is slightly heavier and significantly strong than Aluminum and plastic, provides better heat management than Plastic, but not as good as Aluminum. it is usually only used in the frame of a computer case to hold the internal components, however it also can be used to make the side panels. Sorry for replacing the original answer in its entirety but it was incorrect.

How can you melt a galvanized nail?

well galvanized metal is nothing more than zinc coated steel. Zinc melts at 787.1 F and steel melts at roughly 1200 F depending on the quality of the steel. So yes you can melt a galvanized nail.
