I have a model 950 tractor that also uses the same heat sensor switch - ch15516. As far as I know, you cannot use anything but this JOHN DEERe part. It is about $35 a your nearest Deere dealer.
It sounds like you have a bad head gasket.
No. When you add up the total amount of engine oil, engine coolant, and hydraulic / transmission oil, the tractor has quite a bit more.
Twelve gallons, which is how many gallons I had to put in when my water pump broke and drained all the coolant on the road.
According to the operators manual for a engine diesel 3010 tractor, the cooling system capacity is 16 U.S. quarts. For a gas engine 3010, the cooling system capacity is also 16 U.S. quarts. Hopefully this helps!
The 3130 is the European version of the 2840, and that tractor takes 20 qts (5 gal) of coolant to fill the radiator and cooling system.
If it is a water cooled motor, then you are burning coolant, most likely through your head gasket. It could also be water contaminated gas.
