Sadly, you can't erase CD-R's. Once the data has been burned on the CD-R disc, it essentially becomes a CD-ROM; It all comes down to how data or music is written to a CD-R vs. a CD-RW.
When your CD burner writes to a CD-R disc, the laser physically etches the data into the disc by exposing dots and dashes on a material somewhat reminiscent of photographic film.
When your CD burner writes to a CD-RW disc, your laser becomes less intense and creates dimples in a layer of dyes with in the disc. The reason some older CD players wont play CD-RWs is that the dimples don't reflect the laser as strongly as etches. The reason you can erase CD-RWs is that you can smooth the liquid layer over again and create dimples again, up to 1500 times.
Since the data burned onto a CD-R is bespoke to the actual disc, the only way to destroy the data is to destroy the actual disc.
The best way to destroy a CD-R disc is to place the CD, label-side up, on the pavement or gravel, put your foot on top of the disc and scrape the CD Backwards with your foot. This effectavely destroys the data layer and therefore, the data stored on it.
WARNING: Never, ever bend a CD to destroy it. I one time bent a skipping MP3 CD in the car once as it was bugging me, it shattered into a million pieces of sharp flying polycarbonate! I arived home with my hands bleeding and a car full of CD dust. For 2 weeks after, running the AC would result in a sprinkle of CD dust coming out the vents! If the CD is a CDR is can only be Used Once.If the CD is a CDRW it can be erased and used multiple times.
The laser in the drive is the device that actually reads or writes data from and to the CD/CDRW/CDR.
well, it depends on what kind of softwear you had to burn your cd.
types of optical disc drive are: cd,dvd,blueray,cdr,cdrw,dvdrw,mp3,mp4
It is a CD, DVD, Blue Ray, CDR, CDi, CDRW, DVDRW, MP3, MP4, or any of a dozen other varieties of laser data readers.
There are several kinds of CDs. Stamped (store bought) CD that come with data on them, are not writable, or erasable. They are manufactured with the data already on them. CDR discs can be written with a computer drive, but in general, they cannot be erased. They can be damaged where they can't be read back though. CDRW discs can be written to and then erased and re-written. You need software on the computer to do that though. Look into Nero burning ROM. It's a very good program for doing what you want here, assuming you are using CDRW discs.
it can be used to write rewritable cd's
Any discs that have "RW" on them. An example "CDRW" - Compact Disc, ReWritable
Yes. Once the disc is burned, it behaves just like any other CD.
go to limewire.com and download limewire and it lets you make a CD but first you all know you have to buy a cdr or cdrw at the store Answer It all depends on what you use to download your music/. Basically any one of them you use to download should allow you to make a playlist and after you've made your list depending on what you use to play your music add it there and put it on the CD when it says burn
RCD? Could be CDR they mean. CD-R = Recordable CD. Maybe they mean to say CDR which is the recordable CD but said it the alphabets like we say the words, Recordable CD. I would be that I am correct. Good luck.
cdr can be formatted into an audio CD, data CD or video CD... its the format you choose that determines what you can put onto it. cdr can take almost anything. note, if you just drag mp3 files onto your cdr and burn, it does not make it an audio CD, but data.
