If you're asking the usage for medicinal purposes, [i.e. cuts and scratches], alcohol is the all-purpose ointment, mostly for superficial scratches, rashes or stings in my use. Iodine, I use for more deeper cuts, lacerations or punctures, whether I go to the doctor or not. Better to add something nowadays with all the diseases floating around.

No there is no Iodine in red wine, but survivors of Chernobyl suffered less radiation sickness if they had ONE glass of red wine a day. Red wine is loaded with natural anti-oxidants from dark grapes. After Fukushima, the Russians recommended the consumption of red wine and also to eat Kelp, which does have iodine in it.

Unfortunately, there are trace amounts of iodine in everything, and a lot of it's radioactive! The amount in liquor is actually relatively small though compared to other things (like fruits and vegetables).
