If you are a Baptist, it would be a sin to get drunk, but not a sin to drink in moderation.

Drinking is not bad unless you constantly drink and get drunk! Getting Drunk is the real sin!

This is a matter of opinion. In most Christian faiths, drinking alcohol in moderation is not a sin. Only drunkeness. However, there are some Christian faiths that shun alcohol and believe it to be a sin.

A literal reading of The Bible shows that alcoholic wine was not a sin, and that Jesus himself created some miraculously at a wedding party.

Usually, excessive alcohol is frowned upon by Christians because it pollutes the body and ends up in you committing sins that you wouldn't normally commit. So it's the sin because of the alcohol that is the real problem.
