The sun is what directs the light to the moon whcih makes it shine, and if the moon did not shine we ppl couldn't see at night. :)
Are you asking "What causes the phases of the moon?" It would be a little more accurate to think of the moon's phases changing as observed from earth because the earth and moon revolve around their barycenter-- the earth-moon center of gravity. When the moon is between the earth and sun, we are seeing the part of the moon that is experiencing lunar night time. When the earth is between the moon and sun, we observe the part of the moon that is experiencing lunar daytime. Yes, we always observe virtually the same face of the moon because its rotational period is the same as its earth orbit period, but the phases are exactly the same thing as different times of night time and daytime on earth. And even if the moon were spinning more rapidly (or more slowly, for that matter) we would still see the same phases, given the same lunar orbit around the earth. The moon phases have nothing to do with earth's shadow falling on the moon, or with the moon's shadow falling on the earth.
The sun does not follow the moon. The reason we see the sun at night and not during the day is because the earth rotates (spins). But truth be told, the moon revolves around the earth (flies in circles around earth) and the earth revovlves around the sun (flies in circles around the sun). Did you know that sometimes, you can actually see the moon during the day?
The moon's so cold that it made the sun cry so now the sun will do anything for the moon. The End. The moon does not rule the sun, in fact if anything the sun rules the moon! Bcause if not for refected sunlight, the moon could not shine at all.
Carefully, so to avoid damaging his back.
The moon is included in the sun and the moon, so the moon has everything that the sun and moon have.
A nonexample of a sun would have to be the moon.
The sun lights the moon and how much sun is on the moon depends on the sun,That iswhy you can see moon phases.

No. The sun is a star. The moon is a moon.

When the moon passes between the Sun and Earth there is a new moon. In a special case where the Sun and Moon are aligned there is an eclipse of the Sun (the moon blocking view of the Sun).
A nonexample of a sun would have to be the moon.
The Moon is a natural satellite and the Sun is a star. The Moon is not a star. Neither the Moon nor the Sun are planets.
