It is initially just normal mains water, but then it is purified by a demineralisation plant, so that water turning to steam does not leave deposits in the steam raising units or in the reactor in the case of a BWR. The steam is condensed to water after going through the turbine, and then recirculates, so the water makeup only has to replace loses due to leakage.

Why deposits form in the steam vents of irons in some parts of the country?

Since steam is water evaporating, water that becomes steam may not be clean. So, when the steam goes thru, some of the dirt may come off along with the steam when the steam becomes water.Creating deposits in the steam vents.

Does water come out of a volcano?

Yes, water vapor can come out of a volcano along with other gases and volcanic materials during an eruption. Additionally, some volcanoes have crater lakes that can release water during eruptions or due to interactions with magma underground.

Where do power plants get the water that they use to cool their generators?

It can come from any source which will provide a reliable supply of cool water, a large river, lake, or the ocean if nearby. Use of salt water may require measures against corrosion. If cooling towers are used, most of the heat rejection will occur in transfer to the air passing up the tower. This takes out some of the cooling water as it gets entrained in the air flow, generally about 5 percent of the water flow is lost so has to be made up. If the plant is on the coast and uses seawater then cooling towers are not necessary as there is an almost limitless heat sink in the ocean.

What does 212 mean on va tech helmet?

212 degrees is the boiling point of water (Fahrenheit). The 212 concept is based on the book 212 the extra degree by Sam Parker. It illustrates how one extra degree of effort can make a big difference. "At 211 degrees, water is hot. At 212 degrees, it boils. And with boiling water, comes steam. And with steam, you can power a train."

How does geothermal energy come from rocks?

If you drill deep down into the earth and pump water down the shaft it will become very hot. This hot water, even steam, can be brought up another shaft to the surface where it can be used for heating and generating electricity.

When using magma and water to create energy the magmas heat turns the water into?

When magma and water come into contact, the heat from the magma causes the water to vaporize and turn into steam. This steam can then be used to drive turbines and generate electricity through a geothermal power plant.

Abandoned power PLANT location in Pokemon Red version?

Go East of Cerulean City, and there you Will come to water. Use Surf there and follow the water until you come to the Power Plant

Best type of power plant?

Nuclear power is the best by far because you take pellets that have a uranium orb in the middle then stabilizer rods come in stabilize them and then water is poured on them to generate steam that rises through a turbine and spins the turbine generating power

How can coal make energy?

They burn it...for example like a huge Ameren Power Plant, you will see the trains pull in and out during the deep cold winters, and in return large bellows of smoke come out of the huge stacks.

How does a thermal plant work?

A thermal power plant is where electricity is produced by steam turning turbines which drive generators. The steam can come from burning any kind of fuel, namely, fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas), or nuclear fusion. It can also come from renewable energy (solar, geothermal, ocean thermal, biomass and biofuel).

Does water come from a plant?

A water plant. Water doesnt come from there. It is usually filtered there and then distributed from there.

How is a boiling water reactor's superheater 'heated'?

They don't. BWR's run wet saturated steam. There is no superheating in a BWR, because there is no way steam would come in contact with a heat source. The plant must be built to be compatible with wet steam that could condense.

What did the first machinery run on?

Wind power, water power and animal power. However, all 3 are so early there is no specific record of which was first. Steam power and electrical power did not come into use until centuries later.

Does steam come out of a kettle?

Yes, when water boils inside a kettle, steam is formed and it comes out of the spout.

Where does nucler energy come from?

Nuclear energy comes from nuclear power plants. Inside the power plant, the workers split Uranium atoms which release heat. Then they release water on the heat which causes steam. the steam rises and turns turbines which then release electricity.
