fingertip dilated could mean that you are less than or about at a 1. It is the 40% effaced that would be a concern being as early as you are. If the doctor puts you on some meds to control contractions and montors you regularly i see a little chance of you making it to 40 weeks. But i would assume that you are going to go early. But hopefully the doctor can stop the dilation. I would say that as long as you don't progress then you will make it to 32-35 weeks.
yes you can still do that.
My sister has been this way for almost a week and contracting irregularly and she is still sitting at home waiting?
Especially if this is your first pregnancy, your body could take an unpredictable amount of time to get ready for labor. Generally, loss of the mucus plug means labor will start soon, but it could still be several days or more. It is not uncommon for a woman to be 2cm dilated for at least a few weeks at the end of pregnancy.
If your first child is under five years of age, you can expect this delivery to take about half the time it did before. Isn't that a lovely thought? That's the good news, the bad news is that this baby still isn't coming until it's good and ready! So, get your things together, and make all the arrangements you need for childcare for the older one. Then, enjoy the last few hours of pregnancy! You probably have less than three days!
Being at -2 station during labor means that the baby's head is positioned about two centimeters above the pelvic inlet, indicating that the baby is still in the process of descending into the birth canal. Being 30 percent effaced means that the cervix has thinned out to 30 percent of its original thickness, which is an important step in preparing for labor. Together, these measurements suggest that labor is progressing, but the baby has not yet fully engaged in the birth canal.
put your fingertip on the t-sceen and keep it still
By the time you have read this I bet you have delivered your baby, you probably had it within 2 hours of writing the question. --------------- I am 40 weeks, 5 cm dilated and 75% effaced - have been since last Friday (it's now Monday). I say that your baby will come when he/she is good and ready, and not a moment earlier. I know it can be frustrating, but your child knows when he is supposed to great the world. If your doctor thinks that anything is wrong, they will likely induce you between 41-42 weeks. I recomend you try to just have your water broken first, and if that doesn't get things moving go on to pitocin or some such Intravenous (IV) inducer. Good luck my dear!
Yes. Make sure you ask for a replacement unit that still used the controls.
You should be seeking advice from an expert in this matter.
