In CA your only recourse for an injury on the job is Workers Comp. Your medical insurance can not pay for expenses related to your injury at work. Asking them to do so and not disclosing that the injury occurred at work is insurance fraud.
Disability Insurance pays when you get injured working. It's used to pay bills like the electric, and the mortgage.
Short term disability replaces your income if you become injured or sick and can't work. The benefit period is limited to 3, 6, 12, or 24 months. The policy stops paying benefits if your disability lasts longer than the benefit period.
Disability insurance and unemployment insurance do different things.Disability insurance replaces your income in case you are sick or injured and unable to perform your work duties. Private companies provide this coverage in PA.Unemployment insurance replaces your income if you lose your job. This is a state program. If you are disabled and your employer terminates your position, you may be able to collect unemployment.Second opinion:No because first of all you're already getting money and second you're going back to work so they won't grant you it
Most auto insurance policies have an optional coverage called work loss coverage that will pay for some amount of temporary disability if you are injured in an auto accident and have chosen to purchase this option on your policy.
If you live in Nevada an employer does not have to. In fact the Nevada will defend the employer, if an employee is injured on the job and the employer does not have W/C Insurance. I've been though this.

When people have accidents in their automobile and someone is injured it is required to report it to the police and to their insurance company. This is because the injured person may need a doctors care and the person responsible for the accident is the one that will be required to pay through their insurance company.
It is not easy to qualify for disability insurance if you have a recent DUI. The logic behind this is that you are at greater risk of suffering a disability if you are injured in a car accident and you are more likely to have a car accident if you have a history of DUI. If you are asking about whether or not your employer's auto liability insurance will cover you, then the answer is "probably not" if your DUI is recent (3 years or less).
If you are currently injured and unable to work it will be very difficult to get coverage, and your current injury will be considered a pre-existing condition. You need to buy insurance when you are healthy, not after you get sick or injured.

It may depend on the state you are in. We are in Maryland and I know here it is fine. My husband was injured on the job last August and we carry additional accident insurance and were able to collect for out patient procedures. I suggest checking with an attorney for your state.
