Luke over hears a conversation with Jason other known as the jackal boy. Jason is an undercover population police. Jason is ratting out the other third children. Luke hits him over the head with a textbook. Jason is sent then to the nurses office. A population police comes and Jason accuses Luke of begin a third child. The police guy doesn't believe Jason and so takes him away as a third child. Mr. Talbot comes to the school and tells Luke his cover has probably been blown and he should leave the school. Instead out of courage Luke stays to help the other third children.
