It is closer to being a word than not. (Yes, it is.)
it is a word but it isn't that proper... so it is much better to use nearby.

Spellcheck and Google seem to take it as one word. They are worldwide depended on so i would think it's all just one word. :)
"Nearby" can be either an adjective or an adverb.
Adverb: Let's go somewhere nearby.
Adjective: I'm staying in a nearby hotel.
The correct spelling is "nearby" (close; near).
1 word
nearer, nearest
Just as it is - the first word and proper nouns are capitalized. "Would you rather live nearer the Tropic of Capricorn or the Arctic Circle?"
However, it takes some gumption to choose an underachieving local side, because they are nearer home than nearer to the champions league.
The prefix is pro-. This prefix means for or forward.
look in a thesaurus ( wow people need to learn how to use the internet you like on it )
nearer
As i got nearer to the kitchen, the smell of the pizza sauce smelled even better
nearer, nearest
Nearer
The comparative of near is nearer, and the superlative is nearest.
Just as it is - the first word and proper nouns are capitalized. "Would you rather live nearer the Tropic of Capricorn or the Arctic Circle?"
'Nearer' means like if u r standing somewhere and someone is close to u then it means that they r near to u and when ur holding a teddy for example and ur sitting next to ur friend the teddy is 'Nearer' to u and ur friend is near to u... ;)
the comparative and superlative forms of the word near are nearer(in comparative form) and nearest(in superlative form).
The word is properly spelled "approach" (to go nearer, or an access way).
the heaviest person would have to sit nearer the middle
Arica is nearer.
