An oil pump on a 1994 Honda Civic is found in the bottom end of the engine. To replace the oil pump the engine will require a rebuild as the crankshaft will have to come off as well.
Have to remove the oil pan. It's in there.
Begin by training the oil from your 1990 VW oil pan. Remove the oil pan retaining bolts. Remove the oil pump retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new oil pump.
The oil pump on a 1992 Honda Civic is located underneath the engine. The pump is placed through the crankshaft and as the crankshaft spins it operates the oil pump.
Changing the oil pump is not hard...getting to it is. It is inside the oil pan, my suggestion is pull the motor, put it on a stand, take the oil pan off, you will then see the oil pump, should only be a couple of bolts holding it on, change it out, then reassemble. Make sure to get a new oil pan gasket.

The recommended oil change for a 2002 Honda Civic is every 5,000 miles. If synthetic oil is used oil can be changed every 10,000 miles.
It is your choice. It can even be mixed with conventional oil.
