Vehicle make, model & engine size needed first.
coolant temperature sensor are located where the coolant runs in the block near the thermostat housing normally the connector are on top of the sensor and the sensor itself screws in with a deep socket. The temperature sensor is usaully located where the coolant runs OUT of the engine close to thermostat housing.
You will have to replace the refrigerant, but not the engine coolant.

NOTE: this answer is describing the location of the engine coolant temperature sensor - NOT the coolant sensor in the reservoir that warns when the level gets too low.The coolant temperature sensor is located directly adjacent to the thermostat housing. The thermostat housing is what the upper radiator hose (toward the right side of the engine compartment) connects to. You do not have to replace the reservoir to replace this part, but leaky coolant reservoirs are a common problem on this model.

Well, honey, the coolant temperature sensor on a 1995 Toyota Tercel is usually located near the thermostat housing or on the cylinder head. To replace it, first, make sure the engine is cool, then disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the sensor using a wrench, apply some thread sealant on the new sensor, and install it in the same location. Don't forget to reconnect the electrical connector and refill the coolant if needed. Good luck, darling!
Replace the engine coolant temperature sensor. Your car has two, replace the one with the 2 wire connector
