On a 1998 Mercedes-Benz SLK 230 Kompressor, the pollen filter (also known as the cabin air filter) is typically located behind the glove compartment. To access it, you may need to remove the glove compartment by unscrewing any fasteners and disconnecting any clips. Once the glove compartment is out of the way, you should see the filter housing, which can be opened to replace the pollen filter.
Look on the frame rail on the drivers side just forward of the tank.
Filter is under passenger compartment, just foreword of the DRIVER side REAR wheel. You will see a metal canister with a threaded outlet , and a push together type inlet fitting that will require a "Fuel and A/C Line Quick Disconnect" tool
