How do you make new friends that don't treat you like scum when you find it super hard to really talk to anyone?

I have the same problem. ;) first what I do is I go up to someone who I think might make a good friend and say hi. If he/she asks you a question then answer it and ask questions related to it. Unless it is like how are you. You will find it easier to talk to them if you stay focused on a topic you enjoy. This can start a better convo. Them you will know that person has something in common with you. This might cause you to be friends that have fun together. Your friends that treat you like scum might realize what they are doing. Often the new kid in school is the best approach for a friend. Because they probobaly don't know anyone and are trying to fit in. Hope this helped.
