Unfortunately, some people are really good at doing that. You talk and talk to them, make plans and they act all enthusiastic and when the time comes, you don't hear from them. That's not to say that this guy is exactly like that, but I do find it a bit rude that he didn't at least call or text with some sort of reason or excuse. The hard part is that now you know what he can be like and it may mean the end of a potential friendship. (Unless there was something really wrong and he really couldn't get a message to you that day. It'd be worth looking into before you make a final judgment.)
