As someone who has had a friend chose a signifigant other over me, i say don't do it. there are so many other girls, this guy has stuck by you. If you really really want to have the girl, talk to your friend, be straight with him and ask him if it's okay, he'll respect you for it, if he says no though, you have to listen to him, or you're losing someone forever.
