You already put it out there that you're interested, that is a brave, admirable thing. If he ever returns your affections he will let you know because he is now aware that you would like to be more than friends. In the mean time it may be wise to distance yourself from him in order to give yourself room to heal and/or figure out if you can maintain that friendship. If staying friends with him and seeing him on a regular basis is hurting you, then it's probably a good time for a break from this person.
