All books were banned. The only thing allowed was comics books, 3D sex magazines and scripts for the people in the parlor. Books were banned because they can be viewed in different ways and cause people to think differently. The government didnt want this because they believed it brought sadness. You may say, "But isn't a script like a book?" The answer is no, because reading a script is just basically being told to do something. You are being controlled by the TV unknowingly, which is what the government wants in Fahrenheit 451. The government wants to control the people completely, but have them think they are making their own decisions. They don't want anybody to think any differently than anyone else, thus people don't even have imaginations.
She tells on Montag for having books in the house. ____________________________ Actually, Mildred didn't tell on Montag. There were two reasons why Montag was caught. The first is that the women that were over that night told the firemen that he had the books, and the second is that the mechanical hound found the books that Montag had hidden in his backyard for safe keeping. Mildred didn't tell anyone, but did leave when the fire truck came.
Someone told Captain Beatty if they had a suspicion about someone having books or if they witnessed it with their own eyes.Citizens sent in alarms stating addresses of places suspected of harboring literature.because someone (like a neighbor) would alert them. then they (firemen) would check it out and see if there were really any books, then burn them if there were.Citizens sent in alarms stating addresses of places suspected of harboring literature. The alarm is basically faxed to the fire station and the firemen follow the alarm then do what they are hired to do.The firemen would send a mechanical hound all around town, and if the mechanical hound detected any books, then the hound would just stray around that single house, and that probably reveals to the firemen that the house is in possession of books.
Captain Beatty told Montag that firemen had always been responsible for burning books, even before the current society was established. This lie was used to manipulate Montag into believing that their society had always been built on censorship and book burning.
Told us you needed three books is not a complete sentence. It lacks a subject. For example, adding I, she, he, a person's name or a title would make this a complete sentence. Examples: He told us you needed three books. She told us you needed three books. Mrs. Krammer told us you needed three books. The teacher told us you needed three books.

Faber tells Montag that books are important because they contain the knowledge, ideas, and emotions of society. He explains that each book represents a person who wrote it, and that burning books means destroying the thoughts and dreams of those individuals. Faber emphasizes the power of books to make people think and question the world around them.
