Yes, you can. In fact, many women are more prone to yeast infections before and during their periods because of the hormonal changes that occur at this time. Unfortunately, a doctor cannot properly diagnose you with a yeast infection while you are on your period. You may begin using OTC yeast infection medications as soon as you notice symptoms, but if you do not experience any improvement at all within 3 days, you should consult your doctor. If you are still on your period after 3 days of OTC medication, wait until your period is over before seeing a doctor.

And after your period finish, you could take herbal medicine"fuyan pill" from Wuhan Dr. Lee's TCM Clinic, it is effective on curing yeast infection. And it could eliminate it without reoccur.

It can be treated the same way, but you can't use tampons while you are treating it. You will have to use pads. Or you can take TCM therapy - fuyan pill, it has no side effects. Hope this can help you.

I think it would be because there is more protein in the vagina for the yeast to feed on, making it more warm and wet, which is what fungus needs to survive.

It is also because the hormonal changes alter the acid/alkali balance of your vagina.

Another possibility is that during your period your immune system is somewhat lower due to the loss of blood, so the yeast has a better chance of reproducing. Also, the stress that your body is experiencing during your period can also contribute to your lower immune function, hence the yeast starts to multiply more than usual.

I would recommend a good healthy diet, exercise, and good restful sleep to keep your body, your digestive system, and your reproductive system in tip-top shape. I think that would be a natural and healthy way to reduce your chances of having any more yeast infections.

Yes, you can use a yeast infection treatment during menstruation - do remember not to use tampons if you have a vaginal infection as tampons can make the infection worse, also if your vaginal flora is off-balance it can mean you're at higher risk of bacterial vaginal infections and that the bacteria responsible for TSS may be present or able to multiply to higher levels.

No, it shouldn't affect your period. The period is the shedding of the uterine lining, whereas a yeast infection affects the vagina.

I had the same thing happen to me and I was pregnant. I would take a test to make sure. You should not be treated for a yeast infection until you are 12 weeks along. I had to live with it for that long and then I could treat it.
