a food web
A food chain is where a series of animals(ex. eagle-bunny-grass-sun). A food web is many food chains linked together in where different animals help each other.
There is no food chain for land animals on Antarctica, because there are no land animals that live there.
Food chains typically have fewer stages due to energy loss at each trophic level. As energy is transferred from one organism to another, some of it is lost as heat, leading to a decrease in available energy for each successive trophic level. This limits the number of stages in a food chain to ensure energy efficiency and sustainability.
Then alot of animals would be hungryAnother AnswerAntarctic Krill form the base of the food chain in the Southern Ocean. Without them, the animals in that food chain would be forced into warmer water for food, where they may not survive, based on their invasion of a different food chain.
The food chain is the cycle that animals interact in how they eat each other. This is also similar to Trophic levels, and how the energy flows and matter cycles between animals and different levels of the food chain.

A food web is more accurate than a food chain. Animals eat different things, and are eaten by different things, a web will show all or most of its predators and prey, whereas a food chain will only show one predator and one prey.
