Tendons attach muscles to bones. Tendons may also attach muscles
to structures such as the eyeball. Tendons are connective tissues
that are tough fibrous material rich in collagen. The muscles and
tendons help to control joint movement. Muscles have tendinous
origins (where they arise) and insertions (where they insert) on
bones. Tendons are the part of the muscle that is white and
fibrous. Tendons have very little blood supply so when torn it
takes some time to heal. In severe tendon injuries the attachment
of the tendon can be torn away from the bone.
The same tissue that connects bone to bone is called a ligament.
The difference is an anatomical one, not a functional one.

Definition1/6
The blood flows to and from the heart primarily because of the
relaxing and contracting of the heart muscle. Muscles throughout
the body also exert pressure on blood vessels to literally push
blood to the heart.
