Yes, you can drink alcohol as normal during menstruation.

During menstruation in theory you may get heavier flow because the alcohol can thin the blood, also some women find alcohol increases menstrual cramps. In general the odd drinking session isn't going to have a major effect on menstruation, however if you are a regular heavy drinking or an alcoholic this can have a major effect on menstrual health. Obviously do be aware that if you get drunk you may not remember to change menstrual products, so just drink sensibly.

I have heard that drinking alcohol during the menstrual period causes you to lose more blood rapidly,and unexpectivly. So it happend to me. I had been out the night before and drenk like 2 glases of vine, and the next day i was walking dawn the street when i felt my self wet all over my lower budy,i had to get in to a local store and use the restrooms, only to find out i had been soaked in blood. Lady`s can imagine how embarrasing this can be. Luckily, i had black pants on, and had a scarf which i wraped around my lower budy, and jumped into the first taxi before anyone but my friend noticed.Since then, i never drink during my period,it`s just not worth of the potential embarrasment.
