You will have to get braces if your teeth are twisted but you don't have to get them until your 20,30 or 40 years old and your teeth can untwist if you lose all your baby teeth I think.
Yes it does. Most of the time, getting your braces tightened is painful yes although I don't remember it being quite as painful to get them tightened as it was when I got them put on initially.
Well in my opinion, they didn't hurt at all. They are just uncomfortable when getting them on, sure you have painful times like getting ulcers but people get them when they don't have braces anyway and they can be cured quickly with lotion. don't be scared about getting them, they aren't painful in the slightest and if you have them on as long as I do, you forget you have them anyway haha... I have never received any medical, injections or anything like that in the 4 school years, I have had them on. Nothing to worry about!
Your teeth will hurt every time you get the braces adjusted or tightened at the orthodontist's office, but ask your orthodontist if there are things you can do beforehand (such as taking a mild pain reliever) to alleviate that discomfort. Outside of that, hang in there, and know that the results are worth it.
He first got his braces on December 20th 2011. So he wore them for about a year. And on Twitter, a few months ago he said that he his getting his braces off in 6 months in the new year ! So he is most likely to be getting his braces off this month.
Only a few days but the harder you bite down the longer it hurts
When you first get braces you will hardly even know there there. The smart thing to do though is to take an Advil after because after hours or maybe a day they will start to get sore. Some people say that they hurt but really your mouth is just sore from the pulling because your mouth is not used to it. I have had my braces for a long time and sometimes i hardly know i even have braces. After a while you will get used to them just like i did! Not when they are being put on but shortly after that you will soon start to feel pain in your gums. Your gums will keep getting worse just keep biting things and eating nice soft foods. You will feel the pain for about a week. Mine only hurt for about 3-4 days but everyone is different!
It depends on how much work you had done and how long it takes. Your jaws will probably hurt but my dentist said some people don't feel anything. So to answer your question It may or may not hurt after.
To be honest, that would be a question that you ask your Orthodontist. Check out this website to find out more about braces: http://www.bracesinfo.com/ And don't worry, I have had braces for 5 years. It doesn't hurt when they are put on OR when taken off. :)
I went to the orthodontist today. On the first day I went they did molds and x-rays. At the second visit they will tell you what they need to do to your teeth, such as, orthopedic care or getting braces. Then on your third visit they will give you braces, however this is only if you need braces.
As a former and recent adult brace wearer, I'll answer this question by focusing on the word "hurt." Kids, I believe, are definitely more reactive to physical pain. So, if you are speaking of physical pain, perhaps braces do hurt more on kids. However, children's teeth move more easily too, so maybe they have an edge on adults there. On the other hand, as an adult, I had to go through a lot of emotional hurt with my braces. First of all, the industry is geared for children, and they have not adapted their techniques to adults yet, so I was hurt whenever I was treated like a child. Secondly, it really hurt me as an adult to give up control of my mouth to my orthodontist, not only for the entire time my braces were on, but, I found out later, braces are a lifetime commitment with the retainer and more, so my mouth is going to be controlled for life, I guess, by some sort of brace-related device and/or my orthodontist. Sure did not see that one coming. So, the gist is I guess it depends on what you mean by hurt. Hope that wasn't too long. I do think if you had braces as a kid and know what to expect and get them as an adult, maybe that wouldn't be as bad. But, I never had braces before and had no idea whatsoever of what to expect.
She had braces for a long time ...
