till symptom are showing it is contagious
my son is 3.5 years old & had his first croup attack when he was 11 months old & was in hosp for 3 days - Croup to my knowledge is very contagious - however as it has been explained to me - croup is a virus - not all children that come into contact with the croup virus itself will contract the croup bug - they may get a cough / runny nose etc - but not full on croup - Its as contagious as a cold - I keep my son away from pretty much everyone when he has croup - but its really the parents decision I guess - Boys are more prone as their windpipes are smaller & should grow out of it by the age of 7 - when my son is over the worst of it I always tell parents that may wish to come over etc that he has had croup & then its their call - Its a terrible virus though - I wouldn't wish it on anyone - Not so bad once U know what U are dealing with though
yes in child early age
An upper respiratory infection is contagious for as long as the active virus is in your system. Taking an antibiotic will help rid the body of the live virus. You will remain contagious for 24 hours following the first treatment of the antibiotic.
Impetigo is a very contagious skin disease. It will clear up on it's own, but antibiotic treatment can clear it more quickly and reduce it's contagious ability.
This is not a contagious disease. The virus is contagious.
No, but you must keep your fingers away from your mouth and use an antibiotic prescribed by your doctor.
The germs that caused the virus are still in you and reproducing for most of the time you are on antibiotics. The anitbiotics kill them. As they die, they're numbers dwindle, but are still there, so you are still contagious until all the antibiotic is gone and the doctor confirms the virus is gone. It is important to use all the prescribed antibiotic--to be sure to kill off all the germs. If not, some may be left and start reproducing again, thus you'd have to start all over with the antibiotics.
Yes you are still contagious.
Well, bronchitis can be a virus or a bacteria. If you have a viral version, your antibiotic will not work. So I would give yourself a couple days off of school/work to give both the puffer and the antibiotic a chance to work.
No, it would be bad for your health, besides which you're probably contagious.
once treatment is started are ear mites still contagious
