How is the respiratory system more important than digestive system?

Firstly, the circulatory system is a double pump. It pumps blood to and back from the body and the lungs. After gas exchange occurs in the lungs between the alveoli and the capillary net the circulatory system pumps blood to the the body where the oxygen received from gas exchange is used in respiration and the product of respiration, carbon dioxide gets transported back to the lungs by the heart for excretion from the body. So the circulatory system aids the respiratory system by transferring the needed substances to the cells for respiration. Without the circulatory system their could be no respiration occurring in the respiratory system.

∙ 11y agoIt's not really. Both are vital parts of your body. Without either you would die. It is true that you could probably survive longer without the use of you digestive system than the use of your respiratory system. The digestive system, remember, is the system that digests your food and gives you energy that keeps your body in homeostasis and alive. If you didn't "use" your digestive system (meaning that you didn't eat) then you could survive a few hours up to a few days. This is assuming you live on the fat that is in your body. On the other hand, if your respiratory system stopped functioning then you would not be able to breath and die within a few minutes.
