∙ 10y agoThe natural smell by itself is somewhere between sweat and musk. With heavy exertion the smell may be intensified much like the smell of clean sweat after a workout. If not cleaned this can deteriorate into a slightly fishy quality, almost like canned tuna.
There may be other additional smells added depending on hygiene and various other factors. A heavy stink or sharp odor may be a sign of bacterial infection. An overly yeasty (almost rotten bread smell) may be sign of fungal growth (yeast infection)
If the discharge is during a menstrual cycle there will be the scent of blood, often a tinge of metallic or raw iron quality to it.
There are a variety of other factors which can alter the smell further.

∙ 12y agoThe discharge scent changes, as there is more of it. It should not be an unpleasant odor. That could be a sign of infection. Make sure you keep clean I have noticed a stronger scent during pregnancy, but that is because your vagina has so much more to do to clean itself. It is now also making sure it keeps you clean with the added stress of the baby as well.
no I've not heard of that.it could be as a result of infections in the vagina or that u wear one pant for a long perod of time or u don't wash up very often.Never heard of smelly vaginal discharge in pregnanacy BUT if the discharge is thicker and creamish then it could be

∙ 13y agoI would say no your vaginal discharge should be odor free if you have a bad smell you should go see a doctor and see what they say now everybody is different I'm just going off my body my discharge doesn't stink so I don't believe it is suppised to stink if you feel different then comment but I'm totally normal....... Lolxzzzz but hope you don't have a STD because that can sometimes be what that is I believe if a female is cleaning their bodies the correct way then you shouldn't stink anywhere and I'm not saying go get in the tub and wash your vagina until it feels irritated but see a doctor if you have problems with odor

∙ 12y agoThe smell of your discharge will change during pregnancy as there is more of it. However, if the smell is strong, or you find it unpleasant in any way, see your Doctor as you may have a yeast infection.

∙ 9y agoYes, your vaginal discharge should have a scent: it should smell musky but clean and will change throughout your menstrual cycle, the scent will also change when you're aroused.
If your vagina smells bad then its a sign something isn't right, short-term it may be that you need to shower, maybe it's been a hot day or you've been working out, a temporary pH imbalance as a result of getting soaps near your genitals or having sex is common too. It the bad odour continues it may be a vaginal infection or a sexually transmitted infection, the most common cause of bad vaginal odour is Bacterial Vaginosis which is a bacteria infection that causes a fishy or foul odour.
