the majority of the serotonin (5-HT) in the body (about 95%) is found in the gut. It is made by an enteroendocrine cell called enterochromaffin cells or "EC" cells. Serotonin in the gut increases peristalsis, increases intestinal secretions, and increases capillary dilation--- which helps with nutrient absorption. When it is released in large amounts it can cause nausea and vomiting. The actions of 5-HT are terminated by the same serotonin selective reuptake transporter that is found in the CNS.

Peripheral nerves are found throughout the body outside of the brain and spinal cord. They extend from the central nervous system to various parts of the body, such as the limbs, organs, and muscles, to transmit signals between these areas and the brain.

Why does your body produce cerebral spinal fluid and where is it found?

To cushion your brain and spinal cord and provide nutrients for the brain. It is found in the ventricular system, in the brain and spinal cord and the subarachnoid space between the pia mater and the arachnoid mater of the meninges.

What organs found in the nervous system?

Brain,spinal cord and nerves.

What makes up your nervous system?

The nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal cord. Nerve fibers of the spinal cord spread out to the different part of body. These nerve fibers are part of the peripheral nervous system and are the nerves that are found outside the spinal cord and brain.

Where are neurotransmitters found in the body?

Neurotransmitters are found in the brain and the nervous system throughout the body. They are stored in vesicles at the end of nerve cells and are released into the synapse to transmit signals between neurons.

Where does sensory neurons and motor neurons found in?

Where is cerebrospinal fluid?

Cerebrospinal fluid is found in the ventricles of the brain (which are inside the cerebral cortexes and the cerebellum) as well as flowing around the meninges of the brain and spinal cord (on the outside of both structures).

What are two functions of the CSF?
