a line is a line.. and 2 lines means a positive test.. however your light line can just be from testing pretty early! or it could be due to a chemical pregnancy, in which case your period would start. To know, I would say to do another test again in a couple days, with the first urine of the morning and see if it gets darker or has gone negative. ~pawsalmighty

∙ 18y agoUmm. Yeah. Same thing happened to me with the pregnancy of my second son. It may be a mistake, but it's unlikely. Go to the Dr. and make sure most likely, yes you are. however, to be sure i would take another test. preferably one that test for early pregnancy horemones (an increase in chorionic gonadotropin). the early pregnancy test that is the walgreens brand is one of the best at testing for an elevation in this horemone (it cost about 7-8 dollars). it is also possible that you did not wait long enough for your results or did not take the test properly. either way i would take another one.

∙ 16y agoIn general, if even a faint positive line shows the result is positive. This is only true if the test is read in the time window mentioned by the manufacturers, or if you are not on any medications which may give a false positive.

A false positive result is exceedingly rare. The result may be light positive because you have tested too early or are not as far along into your pregnancy as you thought.

I Dont Know Much About Pregnancy Tests But Id Suggest You Take Another One Just Incase The Test Got Contaminated In Any Way, Its Best To Be Sure Before Jumping To Conclusions. If It Happens Again Then Iam Assuming Your Pregnant. Both of mine showed up faint. I went to the Health Department and sure enough, I was 5 weeks pregnant FAINT POSITIVE IS POSITIVE CONGRATULATIONS

Yes.. I took a pregnancy test and got a very very faint almost non visible pink line.. I was also confused so bought a digital test and low and behold pregnant.. My advice would be to buy a digital test because you are probably pregnant!!!

This is not what I understand. I was told that any line at all = positive, as the HCG that the test measures isn't in your body unless you're pregnant.

Well, it depends if you have two faint lines then yes you are pregnant. HCG levels in your system is not as high. This situation happened to me before in 2004.
