Modern testing facilities can detect even miniscule amounts of THC metabolite in urine. And if you drink so much water that they can't, the urine will also have unusually low levels of the components in normal urine -- basically, they can detect dilution and will make you retest.

Drinking water will fool convenience store tests and probably the cheap laboratory tests that come with them. But legit testing facilities will have methods to detect dilution and so it will not work.

You can and people have; however, you would have to drink a LOT of water to do so. Remember, cannabis doesn't pass through your system in days like herion or Meth. I believe it can stay in your system for up to 30 days. I would think you would have to drink quarts and quarts of water a day to wash out your system. I hear that drinking mildly diluted vinegar cleans cannabis out of your system though. I don't mess with it so I don't know this from first hand experience.
