The struggle for Freedom of India started way back in 1857 in the form of a mutiny that is now regarded as First War of Independence. The seeds of Swarajya were sown by Reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand, Dada Bhoy Naoroji and Bal Ganga Dhar Tilak. India House in London, set up by Shyamjikrishan Verma, produced great revolutionaries like Veer Sawarkar, Madam Cama, Hardyal, Bhagat Singh, Udham Singh, Madan Lal Dhingra and scores of others. The role of Netaji Subhash Chander Bose was equally important. But as they say, the final credit always goes to the one who is the last striker of the game, destiny gave Gandhi this credit of the final blow through his Satyagrahs and movements he led. And thus he was named as Father of the Nation - Rashtrapita, leading to Independence of India
