'Comunidade das CaraÃÂbas' is a Portuguese equivalent in Portugal of the 'Caribbean Community'. CARICOM is intended to promote coordinated foreign policies and integrated economies among its 15 members within and along the Caribbean. It also draws on the enthusiasm and interest of 5 Associate Members and of 7 Observers. Specifically, those nations so involved are the following:
