The French and Indian War came to an end on February 10, 1763. The signing of the Treaty of Paris. The French officially ceded all of its holdings in North America, west of the Mississippi and regained the Islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique. The cost of the war and the control of the newly acquired territories was more than the royal coffers could bear. The British looked to the colonies to pay those costs. That was the beginning of the long spiral of events that led to the American Revolution.
The French and Indian war had various outcomes:
-The British became the dominant power in America.
-The French lost all of its American possessions.
-The British national debt rose dramatically.
-Colonists wanted to expand westward now that the French were gone.
-The Colonists were wary of an increase in British troops in the colonies after the war.
During the French and Indian War, the two sides were the British against the French/Indians. The "French and Indian War" is a peculiar name for the war as the French and the Indians were on the same side
On the North America theater it was the British, with their colonies fighting the French. (we won't go into the Seven Years War that going on at the same time in Europe). The British came out ahead with the French losing all of their colonies in in North America.

The French and Indian War affected the modern times because for example, if the British didn't win the America's wouldn't be speaking English. If the French won, then the colonists in the Americas would be speaking French as of today. But since British won, the citizens in America now speak English because our mother country, Britain, won the French and Indian War.
