From very early on in his life, Winston Churchill was interested in politics for several reasons. For one thing, he was born into a politically involved family, thus political life was in some sense in his blood. For another thing, as a talented and highly ambitious man with tremendous leadership skills both innate and developed, it was natural that he should seek his fortune along a political path.
